The Estonian Association of Archaeologists (EArL) is a voluntary and independent association of archaeologists, students, and representatives of disciplines related to archaeology, operating as a non-profit organization. EArL was founded on June 3, 2022.

Board

Our board consists of five members: Kristjan Sander, Heiki Valk, Arvi Haak, Monika Reppo and the chairwoman of the board, Ulla Kadakas.

Members

As of February 20, 2025, we have 78 members. Our members include both professional archaeologists working in the field as well as archaeology students currently undertaking their studies.

Monument of the Year

Each year since 2023, our association has picked a monument of the year.

• 2023 – hillforts
  • Kuusalu hillfort (in English)
  • Rosma hillfort (in English)
• 2024 – stone graves
• 2025 – writing and its material traces
